Do it yourself if all you have is a 1099 or W2. You don't a 'professional'. Try out filing online yourself via HR Block, Turbo Tax or Credit Karma (CK is totally free). It lets you complete the return without needing to file. Do it just to compare the results with the 'professional's returns so you have confidence and can do it in future, if not this year.
