First, welcome to the US. One thing you will realize soon is that US has very human and common sense policies. Everybody knows kids can fall sick etc., so it is understandable that your kid will need to take off on sick days. IN fact they encourage your kid to stay home if they are sick so that they do no spread germs/sickness to other kids. Having said that every school district has its own policies. For example if child is sick for 3 days or more they may require you to send in a doctors note. I will encourage you to ask these questions from the child's school. hey have very clear policies and you should go over them to make sure you are clear. Once again, welcome to the US. It is a great country to raise kids and you will not regret it.
