so my wife get to know the losses, I try to convinence but not really.
She want to leave with 2 kids back to India and crying daily for this.
Life is horrible and sleepless nights with this OILU Stock ( this is ETF which can become zero, not liek regular stock).

If you are new to stock market, just get out of this shit, this stock market will make your wife widower !! no doubt !!
you may gain 1 day but this nervous, tention and nail bitting life forver is very hard to balance between Work job vs family vs this stocks. My 2 cents to community.

and NRI Citizen who ever you are hope the ending makes you hapy.

Re: My stock market story   I don't care about money   03/13/2019 09:57 AM
Money is not everything guys. Don't crave for money, It will always make you unhappy. Be happy with what you getting without any mental pressures(some one feel like it pleasure). You may miss some pleasures without extra money but not happiness. Hope you leave the past and be happy with your wife and children in future.

That's bull shit advice. Money is not everything but it is very important. You cannot just ignore the importance of money in life. The whole world is mad after it. You do need money for certain things. Only person who has lost money can feel the pain. Others can such BS advice. But, yes having money does not equate to happiness, but losing money can equate to sadness.

My advice to op is to suck it up and try to not repeat this mistake again. You listened to some strangers and webt after instant fortune. That seldome happens, instead invest wisely and over a period of time.

Good luck. Maybe it will bounce back over the next few weeks - who knows. If you can - do hold for some more time and don't sell at a loss. Right now the loss is only in books.

Stay away from it. Focus on your job and make money and save it.

It is difficult to track markets daily when you have job wife and kids to worry about. Invest into good companies but only after the market has crashed. Never invest all your money, there should always be limit on how much you invest because you can't rely on investments everytime. Investing in good stock for long term will reward you but don't do it now.

LameAdvisor - you are exactly that - lame.

You NEVER try to time the market, and you always invest regularly over a period of time and never at once or in one stock. The simple advice is to invest in low cost index fund like the vanguard S&P 500 index fund. If you just do that the money will double in 10 years. That and the power of compounding is what you need to learn about. I have been doing that over the last 15 years or so - cam here on h1 and am currently a citizen. My net worth is over 2 mill now - here is how I track it https://www.networthshare.com/user/sertra2002.

We Indians only know about saving , and not investing. You do need to save for emergencies and shot term, but for things like retirement, kids education etc. you do need to invest - not investing is just foolish and a Lame Advice. And investing does not mean try to time the market.
